Remote ID drone rules by region
Which drones broadcast Remote ID depends on where they fly. These guides explain the rules per region in plain language, and what you can see with DroneScout. Most countries also have no-fly zones and other restricted areas for drones; those are separate rules that these pages don't cover, so check your aviation authority's map before you fly.

Rules proposed or adopted, but not in force yet:
- Canada — Transport Canada has proposed Remote ID for drones from 250 g to 150 kg, broadcast over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi or sent over the network. Final rules are expected in 2028, with pilots having to comply by about 2030. Transport Canada
- Taiwan — the drone rules, amended in November 2024, require radio identification above a certain weight. The Civil Aeronautics Administration hasn't yet announced that weight or the technical rules. Rules (Chinese)
- Australia — the government consulted on Remote ID in 2023 and hasn't decided yet. drones.gov.au
